Ways to Support

You have supported us through fundraisers, legacy donations, petition signing, and more.

We have never done this alone. We have supporters who have donated to us for more than 30 years trusting us to fight for access to sexual health and rights, including abortion.

We deserve a world where every person controls their sexuality, reproduction, gender expression, and health in a safe community.

By becoming a supporter of Action Canada, you help ensure sexual health and rights, including abortion, are solidified, accessible, and funded for everyone within our healthcare system.

Your support can help make a big difference now and in the years to come!

Continue to fuel the movement!

Host a Fundraising Campaign or Event

Are you interested in mobilizing or fundraising for Action Canada?  We are grateful for the people who have generously raised funds for Action Canada while celebrating a vasectomy, performing on their Twitch channel, protesting anti-choice marches, during bike-a-thons, at trivia nights, bake sales, student fundraisers, or work fundraisers. These community fundraisers are uplifting and fun, showing us that we are all in it together.

Connect with us if you are looking to hold a fundraiser. Email Rosario, Donor Relations Officer at rosario@actioncanadashr.org.

If you have already held a fundraiser, please donate the funds here: https://secure.actioncanadashr.org/en/form/donate

Also, please get in touch; we would love to express our appreciation.

Norma Scarborough Emergency Fund

Over 60% of Access Line callers tell us that travel and location are major barriers for them. Many callers require financial support from the Norma Scarborough Emergency Fund (the only one of its kind in Canada) to pay for the travel, medication, and related expenses coming out of their pocket.

The Norma Scarborough Emergency Fund helps people who need an abortion pay for travel, medication, and related expenses and is the only one of its kind in CanadaWe fill in the gaps left by government underfunding of abortion access in Canada.

The fund is 100% donor-driven and is drawn down to $0 each year. It is donors like you who ensure the Norma Scarborough Emergency Fund is sustained year after year so that no one who faces barriers to abortion care gets left behind.

Become a Monthly donor!

Being a Monthly donor is the most powerful way to support Action Canada

Consistent, predictable donations are crucial for our work and the communities and individuals we serve. With a reliable monthly revenue stream, we can plan ahead, launch new initiatives, and help more people. Join as a Monthly donor!

Stocks or Securities

Donating securities, such as publicly listed stocks, bonds or mutual fund units, is another way you can support.

Securities are exempt from capital gains taxes when you transfer them directly to a registered charity like Action Canada.

For a charitable donation of publicly-traded securities such as stocks, mutual funds, bonds or futures you will receive a tax receipt for 100% of the value of the gift on the day of the transfer. If funds are in USD they will be converted in CAD, based on the Bank of Canada exchange rate on the day of the transfer. We are only able to provide tax donation receipts in Canadian Dollars.

You may donate stocks or securities easily to Action Canada by electronically transferring the shares from your brokerage account. Estates will also receive a tax receipt for the full market value of the securities you transfer.

Download this Securities Transfer Form to begin the transfer with your broker. We self-manage our Investments through BMO InvestorLine. Please let us know it’s on the way by emailing Rosario Castro at rosario@actioncanadashr.org.

Be informed and get involved!

Support and follow organizations who are fighting for racial justice, disability justice, economic justice, migrant justice, and 2SLGBTQIA+ rights. Abortion bans and access inequities ALWAYS have a disproportionate impact on marginalized folks. We can’t back down until everyone has equitable access. Here are some organizations to follow, to list just a few: SisterSongCanadian Centre for Gender and Sexual DiversityDisability Justice Network of OntarioMigrants Rights Network.

Make informed decisions at the polls. Many politicians have publicly signaled their support of the anti-abortion movement. Check out the reporting from the Abortion Rights Coalition of Canada (ARCC).

Call and email your local elected officials about universal contraception coverage. Learn more about contraception coverage.
