Do you feel like New Brunswick is more divided than ever before? That the social media debates we see every day only deepen our misunderstandings and fears? It doesn’t have to be this way. Research shows that if we step away from our keyboards to have real, face-to-face conversations, we can start to heal and unite our community. That’s why we’re launching the Get Offline & Talk campaign, and we need your help to make it a success.
Why This Campaign Matters
Recent policy changes in New Brunswick, such as revisions to Policy 713 and the ongoing debates about comprehensive sexuality education (CSE) have stirred confusion and conflict within our community. These frequently misunderstood issues have sparked online arguments that often lead nowhere but deepen the divides between us. Social media platforms, while a convenient way to share information, frequently amplify misinformation and create echo chambers that make genuine understanding and progress almost impossible.
Our Solution: Real Conversations
The Get Offline & Talk campaign is here to change that. We’re encouraging New Brunswickers to step away from the screens and engage in meaningful, in-person discussions. Offline conversations allow us to connect on a human level, to listen and to be heard, and to build empathy and understanding in ways that online debates simply can’t achieve.
