The Global challenges and opportunities for Canadian leadership on SRHR: a multi-stakeholder conversation2 brought together over 40 senior stakeholders representing Canadian and international civil society organizations, government representatives, publically elected officials, activists, and the private sector.

By giving adolescents and young women more control over their bodies with full access to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), the Future Planning Initiative provides the foundation to realize other rights and plan for their future—to complete education, to pursue employment, to decide whether or when to have a family.

With 2016 comes the implementation of the new 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted last September at the United Nations.

The purpose of the information series is to provide detailed guidance for lawmakers, policymakers, judiciaries, health service providers, civil society and other stakeholders, to support the adoption and effective implementation of laws, policies and programmes to respect, protect and fulfil women’s sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR).
